A marketing and events professional, Lahaina is passionate about amplifying unheard voices and creating memorable experiences that connect people. Mike Yasson
Founder
Dr. Mike Yasson, DPT, CSCS, ART, is the founder of Big League Performance + Rehab, a lifestyle therapy brand, and co-founder of Every Person Run Club. Growing up in New York with a passion for sports, Mike discovered his calling in physical therapy after a baseball injury sidelined his own athletic dreams. He fell in love with running while serving as a lululemon ambassador, embracing the community and movement it fosters. Mike founded Big League to bring professional-level care to athletes of all abilities, making it the home base for EPRC’s Sunday runs. When he’s not in the clinic, you’ll find him running around Capitol Hill or out on a boat with his wife in Annapolis.

Donald Ray Johnson (who goes by DJ) is a US Navy Veteran from Houston, TX, and he considers running to be his therapy, saying it helps clear his mind and keeps him grounded. DJ’s favorite place to run in DC is around the Tidal Basin, where he can catch a glimpse of the Jefferson Memorial--his favorite monument. While he’s not the best at staying on top of his running nutrition, he is always excited to share his love of running and to help his fellow runners find joy in their own running journey.

Abhishek Tayal
Captain | Membership
Abhishek is relatively new to running, but in just over a year with EPRC, his perspective has completely changed. What once felt intimidating has become something he genuinely enjoys. With the club’s encouragement, he went from running his first 5K to completing his first half marathon and eventually his first full marathon—all within a year! EPRC has shown him the incredible power of running as a community and how much can be achieved through mutual support.

Sharon considers herself relatively new to running, having started with EPRC in 2023 after spending most of her life too nervous to give it a try. Now, Sharon is passionate about ensuring the running community is inclusive and welcoming. She believes firmly that there is space for everyone in the running world, and her motto is “if you run, you’re a runner!” Her favorite place to run in DC is along the Wharf. When she’s not running, you can find Sharon cheering on the Caps or the Nats, reading thriller novels, crafting, or hanging out with her husband Daniel and their two beagles.

Amanda discovered her passion for running in 2015 after her mom spontaneously signed her up for a 5K. Fast forward to her recent return to DC, she found EPRC as a perfect way to meet new friends and escape the solo training routine. She loves hitting the streets with friends and her dog, Walter, who keeps every run fun and lively. When not running, you can find Amanda taking Walter on long walks or hikes, diving into a good book, or enjoying a well-deserved nap (recovery is important too!). Amanda’s favorite place to run in DC is the National Mall at sunrise.
